With a 31-14 win over Monaca, Monessen High School registered win number 600 in their school's history.  Heading into the 2007 season, the Greyhounds had a career record of 589 wins, 318 losses, and 47 ties and were 18th on the all-time win list in the Keystone State. Congratulations to the Greyhounds!


Kane Area High School has recorded 11 wins this season, the most ever in Kane Football History. Also, by us going undefeated in the regular season, it is only the second time in school history that the Wolves have been undefeated. The last time was the season of 1962 (45 years ago)!


Nick Wilkinson of Twin Valley High School became the first back in school history to rush for over 1000 yards in a season.  His 144 rushing yard performance in the opening round of the Eastern Conference Playoffs against Tunkhannock pushed his season total to 1069 yards.  He also tied two school scoring records with most TD's in a game (4) and most TD's in a season (14)


With the final game of the year for Mount Carmel in Week 11, Jose' Gonzalo, team statistician, was privileged to witness his 500th consecutive Mount Carmel Area football game dating back to 1966. Congratulations Jose'!  Let's hope you can view another 500 games!


During Eisenhower High School’s Playoff game with Mercer, Sophomore Cody Crosby Set the school record for season passing yards with 1,374 yards, breaking Neal Riech’s 1992 record of 1,289 yards. Crosby also set the Season Punt yardage record with 1,698 yards while maintain a 38.0 average. It was also the varsity football program’s 500 game, of which the program holds a .538 overall winning percentage.


Bishop McCort's Jordan DeFrances threw for 291 yards and 4 touchdowns in the Crusher's 36-15 win over Chestnut Ridge. With that performance, he broke McCort single-season records for passing yardage (1,944 yards), completions (118), and touchdown passes (22). He also established a new mark for career touchdown passes with 37.  The Crushers have at least one more game for DeFrances to add to his records, and possibly more if they keep advancing into the playoffs.


Matt Varga, Bishop McCort, also broke several records in the Crusher's win on Friday night. He caught 4 passes for 141 yards which set the school record for receptions in a single season with 45, and also set career marks for receiving yards (1,262) and touchdown catches with 13.


Wade Williams, Pius X, broke career records for receptions and yardage with his performance against Shenandoah Valley in the first round of the District 11 playoffs,  He now has 112 receptions for 1,994 in his career at Pius X.


In a 45-28 win over Wilson Area, Palisades quarterback, Kyle Jensen, who rushed for 120 yards on 24 carries, became the first Palisades player to rush for 1,000 yards and pass for 1,000 yards in the same season.


When Jim Thorpe High School bounced Northern Lehigh, 42-14, it was the very first playoff win for the Olympians in their school's history!.


Zach Barket, Schuylkill Haven broke the school’s single-season rushing record by running for 296 yards and five touchdowns in the Hurricanes’ 37-14 victory over Wyalusing in an Eastern Conference Class AA semifinal Saturday night. The junior tailback now has 2,335 yards and 25 touchdowns this season, breaking the school record of 2,324 yards set by Buddy Fegley in 1998.
