Carvan Thompson, Center and Nose Tackle from Clairton, has started each game from his freshman season through last week. With his 60th start this Friday night, he broke Strath Haven's Dan Connor's record of 59 straight.
Dan Harding, Nazareth Area, threw for 383 yards in the Eagle's 63-27 demolition of Parkland. He became Nazareth's career touchdown pass leader and surpassed Wilson grad Tyler Smith's District 11 single-season passing mark.
Brendan
Nosovitch, Allentown Central Catholic threw for 316 yards and four
touchdowns while becoming District 11's all-time leader in passing yards.
Nosovitch unofficially is up to 8,172 career yards.
Kevin Gulyas, Allentown Central Catholic, used an 11-catch night to
become the state's career leader in receptions. Gulyas became the state's
all-time leader in receptions with a 12-yard catch late in the first half,
passing Seton La Salle's Carmen Connolly, who caught 221 passes from 2002 to
2004. Gulyas now has 224 career receptions for a state-record 3,727 yards
and 46 touchdowns. He pushed his single-season District 11 records this year
to 99 catches for 1,557 yards.
Head Coach, Jeff Bell, Grove City recorded career win number 100 when
his Eagles defeated Erie East, 49-0 in a District 10 semi-final game.
Sophomore AJ Long of Pius X leads
the area with 37 td passes this year and in the process broke Cole
Hildabrant's school record of 35 td passes that he set in 2004. He also
broke his own school record for passing yards in a season with his 2,972
yards this season. Long threw for 2,852 yards last year. His 5,824 career
yards moves him past Mark Borda of Bethlehem Catholic into tenth place
all-time in the area.
Jr., Dubois "Boise" Ross of Pius X now has 16 td catches for
the season and is tied with Willie Wallace and Quintin Lopez for 2nd place
at the school. Wade Williams holds the school record with his 17 td catches
in 2006.
Port Allegany junior quarterback, Matt Bodamer, surpassed the 3,000 yard single season passing level and also went over the 40 TD level during a playoff game against Brockway. Matt has 3,170 yards passing on the season and 41 TD passes. In the same game, junior wide-out Tyce Miller went over the 1,000 yard receiving level. Tyce has 61 receptions for 1,074 yards and 14 TD's.
Jordan Gray of Nazareth broke East Stroudsburg's James Mungro's District 11 freshman records for rushing yards and td's scored in a season. Gray now has 1,380 yards and 20 total td's.
