David Soldner, Manheim Township place-kicker, booted a 50-yard field goal on Friday in a 34-10 win over Reading to break his own school record for the longest field goal in school history. His previous record was 48-yards.
William "Muzzy" Colosimo, head football coach at Greensburg Central Catholic, notched career win number 100 when his Centurians defeated Southmoreland, 21-7 on Friday night.
Eric Reynolds, a 5-foot-10, 195-pound senior tailback, for Central Bucks South carried 27 times for a school-record 401 yards and six touchdowns as the visiting Titans squeaked by Abington, 49-45, Friday night.
Donte Valentino, California, became the 32nd WPIAL player to surpass 4,000 rushing yards Saturday when he gained 158 on 17 carries in a 33-6 victory over Geibel Catholic. Valentino now has rushed for 4, 045 yards in his stellar carrer at California.
Marcus Wasilewski, Mount Carmel Area quarterback, was 20 of 38 for 309 yards in a 35-29 loss to Chichester on Saturday. His 20 completions establish a new single game record at MCA, and his 309 yards passing establishes a new single game record at MCA.
Wide receiver, Matt Moroz, Mount Carmel Area, was on the receiving end of 9 passes (124 yards) in the Tornado's 35-29 loss to Chichester on Saturday. His 9 receptions tied a Mount Carmel Area single game record.
On Friday night, Vaughn Carraway, Muhlenberg High School tied a state record for an interception return for TD of 108 yards. He tied the mark set by Raki Nelson, Bishop McDevitt in 1994.
